Here is a simple still life painting I completed using a photograph that an online student sent to me. She is taking private lessons from me.

Here are the steps I took to reach this point:

First, I did a line drawing to make sure the composition fit well on the canvas and the design had a nice flow to it:

Then I painted in the darks:

Afterwards, I added the sunflowers and background all done in 30 minutes as a study or a "simple impression" of what I saw in the photograph:
