Had the wonderfully good fortune of being asked by Society of Western Artists to demo a Still Life painting in oils for the first Saturday monthly meeting held at the new Gallery in San Bruno, CA. It is a wonderful location and a beautiful gallery space.
Here is the demo completed Saturday night.
Here is the finished painting completed in my studio today.

Saw the cutest flower pot arrangement at the local market and thought how fun it would be to paint it with some lemons....so here is my still life display. I acquired the bowl from an antique fair.
Here is my line drawing. When I do this, I am always making sure the placement feels right on the canvas panel and that I like the composition.
Now, I'll start painting...I started with the lemons and am working my way up.
And now, I'll just continue to paint.
Tomorrow I'll have it finished!
First new painting in my studio!
