A Dear Friend who I paint with at the Redwood City Art Center was talking to me one day in her studio and her face was so serious as she talked about her passion for art, plus shared her fear of getting eye surgery to improve her poor eye sight.  After talking to her about these things, I asked her if I could take some photos of her as she spoke some more. I decided to call this painting "Fear and Passion"
