Was sick and stayed home yesterday and decided to learn from one of my favorite painters ever! Here is an entry in my journal - oil on paper - of a Sorolla painting. What wonderful colors he used in the face -lots of blues, greens and purples. Subtle shifts in cools and warms - I'll use everything I learned in my own paintings moving forward. Too funny I thought about painters from that period who probably took a workshop from him, just like I do today to develop my skills and get better. Wish he were still alive - I'd be on a waiting list to get into his class! :)
